Six Flags the Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom
Six Flags the Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom is the biggest amusement and water park of all amusement parks in New York. There are 50 rides and slides. Surprisingly it is not the amusement park in New York with the most thrilling rides or roller coasters. Thats the number 2 biggest: Darien Lake. But still with 7 roller coasters and 6 intens ride its a great park for thrill seekers. Spectaculair coasters are the Steamin’Demon, Flashback and Comet. The great thing about this Six Flags park is that it is also very suitable for children and family’s. There are many calm and moderate rides and some very cool water rides. Six Flags the Great Escape is located 40 miles outside New York City.
Darien Lake
Darien Lake is also a water and amusement park in New York state. With 46 rides that’s enough for the second place on this list of all amusement parks in New York. But however there are more roller coasters and thrilling rides in this park then the one above. Don’t get me wrong, both parks are very thrilling. But there are just a few more thrilling rides in Darien Lake like the Ride of Steel, Mind Eraser and Boomerang. This park is not only fun for thrill seekers but also for family’s and children. There are many children and family friendly rides here. Darien Lake is very close tot the Canadian border near the city Buffalo.
Playland
The 3th biggest amusement park in New York is Playland. It is also the 3th in the state when it comes to thrill rides and roller coasters. Playland has 5 roller coasters and 2 of them are intens. Those are the Super Flight and Dragon Coaster. So it is a very nice park when it comes to thrilling rides. It is also very nice for smaller children and family’s because of the many calm and moderate rides. Playland Park is located very close to New York. Very nice thing about the park is that it is located right at the oceans shore.
Fantasy Island
Fantasy Island is located on an island in the river Niagara which is also the border between Canada and the United states. And that’s right, very close to the world famous Niagara falls! Fantasy Island is a pretty big park, it has 39 rides, 3 roller coasters but only 1 intens ride. That’s a giant carousel called the Mind Warp. Nice roller coasters in the amusement park are the Silver Comet and Crazy Mouse. Fantasy Island also has a small water park inside with some nice water slides. But the big majority of the rides is suitable for small and big children. The perfect family park it is.
Seabreeze Amusement Park
Seabreeze Amusement Park is very similar to the park above here. It might even be a little bit more suitable for children because it lacks some spectaculair roller coasters. However it does have one more. Most of the roller coaster are really kid friendly. Jack Rabbit and Whirlwind are the most spectaculair roller coasters in Seabreeze Amusement Park. There is one intens ride, its a huge Pendulum Ride called the Screamin’ Eagle. Seabreeze Amusement park has a beautifull location right at lake Ontario in the city Rochester.
Adventureland
Getting a bit smaller now Adventureland is still a nice amusement park with 29 rides! It is located on Long Island. The park has no intens rides but 2 roller coasters one for children and the other one is surprisingly spectaculair. Named the Turbulence Coaster you will definitely have a great ride in here. Luna Park Coney Island
Located right at the beach south of New York city Luna Park Coney Island has also 29 rides but is a lot more spectaculair then the park above here! There are 5 extreem intens rides and 2 of them are roller coasters. There are 5 roller coasters in total in Luna Park Coney Island. One is the famous beach side roller coaster Coney Island Cyclone and the other is the Thunderbolt which goes straight down! Then there are 2 awesome extreem pendulum rides which makes you go crazy and upside down all the time. Those are the Luna 360 and Zenobio. And there is a Slingslot. This park is really awesome for thrill seekers. And also family’s and children will have a good time in the other rides.
Deno’s Wonder Wheel
Deno’s Wonder Wheel is a compact amusement park build around a big Ferris Wheel. It is also located right south under New York very close to the park above. There are 23 rides and 18 of them are calm. So this is really a children’s park. There is a roller coaster named the Sea Serpent Roller Coaster. This coaster is also very suitable for small children who want to have there first roller coaster experience.
Huck Finn’s Playland
Everybody knows the famous Huckleberry Finn. Huck Finn’s Playland is obiously build in this style. Huck Finn’s Playland is not that big with 17 rides but the park does have 2 roller coasters! One that is only nice for small children. The other one is a moderate roller coasters, with the name Roller Coaster. There is one other moderate ride, the Paratrooper. All the other 15 rides are calm. So its a very nice children’s amusement park. Huck Finn’s Playland is located in Albany.
Sylvan Beach Amusement Park
Sylvan Beach Amusement Park amusement park is another children’s park with some moderate rides. It has a few more moderate rides then the park above making it also nice to go to for your older children. There is one moderate roller coaster, the Galaxi Coaster. From the 16 rides in total 5 of them are moderate and 11 calm. Sylvan Beach Amusement Park is located right next to lake Oneida in the town Sylvan Beach.
Victorian Gardens Amusement Park
Victorian Gardens Amusement Park is located in the middle of New York city. It is more a big fair in Central Park. With over 13 rides its great for a few hours of fun. 12 of those rides are calm so this big fair is especially nice for small children and there family’s. But it is a beautiful location so you can always walk by if you live in New York Center. There is a small roller coaster suitable for children.
Santa’s Workshop
Santa’s Workshop is the smallest of all amusement park in New York but maybe not the least. Everybody likes Christmas and Santa and you will definitely find those 2 in Santa’s Workshop.
